Grodan rockwool is an excellent quality stonewool substrate with a very high water holding capacity. Rockwool is absolutely free of disease, salts, and weed seeds. It has no Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) so the grower can take advantage of a nutritional program specifically tailored to the crop being grown.

Grodan stonewool is a perennial favorite of hydroponic gardeners. These miniblocks are the best choice for rooting cuttings and can also be used for germinating seeds. Its fibres hold moisture and air in good proportion and provide excellent stability for your plants roots and can also be used for germinating seeds.

We recommend soaking them in pH 5.5 water overnight, and add seeds or cuttings the next day.
Keep them under a dome to retain moisture and mist if necessary.
From here, you can transplant into any growing medium, soil or hydro.
