Stonewool substrate is made primarily from basalt. Basalt is a type of stone that originates in the earth’s interior and is brought to the surface as lava. Liquid basalt is spun in a centrifuge until the desired fibre structure is achieved. The advantages of B’cuzz stonewool are:

Because the root fibres of the plants in the Original Dutch stonewool have no direction, the roots will better spread in the mat. This causes a much better humidity and nutrition through the mat. Therefore the mat is fully used. This results in a defensible root system, which feels very comfortable in this unique mat structure.
